Description
Sometimes referred to as
"baby thresholds," thresholds are designed to terminate wood
floorcovering and are often used in doorways and along areas
where carpet meets wood floorcoverings. The overlapping
nature of this profile allows it to be a universal transition
and therefore does not need to be matched to the height of the
floorcovering. The threshold is often used to cover sawn
edges of the floorcovering where the boards are perpendicular to
the profile. The threshold should be secured to the sub-floor
using shims if necessary to avoid breaking when uneven pressure
is applied to it. The wood floorcovering should be allowed
to move freely under the threshold.

Finish
-
Machine finished in our facility
-
The finish has added UV inhibitors to reduce the
effects of ambering.
-
Moulding Solutions uses only environmentally friendly, VOC
compliant finishes. Our high solids, high build finishes are
machine applied and quick cured through various methods
including chemical reaction and energy based methods. The
result is an even coat along the entire length of the
product. Our finishes have an added UV absorber to prolong
the life of the finish and resist ambering, or
"yellowing"
of the product from age. The resulting product will last
for years to come.
Installation
-
Proper
installation is detailed in the image at the
top of this page
-
The threshold
must be installed so the flat section on the rear underside
of the piece is resting squarely on top the floorcovering
and the bottom "leg" is resting on the sub-floor
-
Use shims as
necessary to provide extra support

CAD sheets are a 1:1 drawing in
Adobe .PDF format that allows you to view and print each
profile. This can be especially useful when comparing
different product profiles or determining product
suitability for a particular application.
