T-Mold

Description

T-molds are often referred to as "t-strips".  T-molds are used to transition between two floorcoverings of equal height.  Often these transitions are used between two rooms where the same floorcovering is installed.   The t-mold can also be used to transition wood to tile floor covering.  As with the threshold, the t-mold is an overlapping profile supported in the center by a leg.  The t-mold is designed to have a low profile for easier cleaning and reduced trip hazards.

  • Moulding Solutions uses only environmentally friendly, VOC compliant finishes. Our high solids, high build finishes are machine applied and quick cured through various methods including chemical reaction and energy based methods.  The result is an even coat along the entire length of the product.  Our finishes have an added UV absorber to prolong the life of the finish and resist ambering, or "yellowing" of the product from age.  The resulting product will last for years to come.

Installation

  • Proper installation is detailed in the image at the top of this page

  • The t-mold must be installed so the flat sections on the rear underside of the piece are resting squarely on top the floorcovering and the bottom "leg" is resting on the sub-floor

  • Use shims as necessary to provide extra support
